As we know education is the foundation of a society. It helps people to live cohesively in a community, participate politically, and contribute economically. Investing in education has individual, country-level, and global benefits.
At the individual level, education can improve people’s employability, earnings, and health outcomes. Countries that have invested heavily in primary, secondary, and tertiary education have been able to contribute to advances
in science and knowledge and create new products and technologies. Globally, investments in education underpin social cohesion, economic growth, competitiveness, and innovation.
The Acting Minister of Education Mawlavi Habibullah Agha by ringing the school bell, in an official ceremony at the Amani High School, on the first Wednesday of the current solar year, started the new academic year
The acting education minister emphasized that his-led ministry is committed to providing standardized and balanced educational services to the citizens of the country in the remote areas of Afghanistan and children returned from neighboring countries. He also requested that after the beginning of the new academic year, eligible children should be enrolled in the schools.
Referring to the educational curriculum, the education minister said: “The curriculum of modern and religious sciences in the country is of poor quality and we cannot achieve anything with poor quality sciences. Contemporary and religious sciences, we try to keep up with global standards.”
The school ring is rung at a time when a safe and secure education environment has been provided for all Afghan children across the country and the children should make optimal use of this golden opportunity as Afghanistan should have been among the developed countries, but it was left behind due to decades of divesting war and foreign interferences.
But now by the grace of Almighty Allah, the people of Afghanistan are experiencing freedom, independence, and nationwide security, it is necessary to pay more attention to education, which forms the foundation of a
society and country, than any other field.
As, at the individual level, education can improve people’s employability, earnings, and health outcomes. Countries that have invested heavily in primary, secondary, and tertiary education have been able to contribute to advances in science and knowledge and create new products and technologies.
In a time of rapid social, technological, and economic change, investing in education is also important for building the resilience of countries.
As the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) highlights, “Investments in human capital can be a source of resilience over the long term and help ensure the well-being of future societies, especially in countries with large youth populations.” Studies by the World Economic
Forum show that investing in education is necessary to protect economies from sudden shocks and rapidly changing labor markets.
Thus, education is pivotal in steering society toward a path of economic development, peace, and stability and the Islamic Emirate should do its best to standardize the education system in the country and provide every Afghan child with quality education across the country, because without a developed and quality education our country would not develop and move towards progress, self-sufficiency, and prosperity
