Islamic Emirate encourages, supports women business

Since the resumption of power by the Islamic Emirate nearly two years ago, the incumbent Islamic system is making efforts to pay attention to the women economic self-sufficiency further than before. Providing work for women should not only be restricted within government institutions, the plan to help them build and raise their capacity through their own initiative, to reach self-sufficiency, should be widened and women, who are mostly the breadwinners of their families, should be given more opportunities to work under the Islamic system.

Scores of exhibitions have recently [and in the past] been held to show women-related handicrafts and their homemade (local) cuisines in some provinces of the country, including the capital as well as they were encouraged to beef up their crafts more than ever. In a fresh move to promote women’s handicrafts and encourage their abilities, a number of businesswomen have been helped to hold an exhibition for the purpose of marketing their handicrafts, in the country’s capital Kabul. With the cooperation of the authorities of the Islamic Emirate, they have been provided with opportunities to exhibit their handicrafts and to ask the related organs to pave more grounds for them to get developed in the trade sector and to organize exhibitions abroad. Some of the country’s businesswomen who have been involved in this craft such as beadwork, leather embroidery, and Afghani cloths, for nearly twenty years, are still warm-heartedly continuing their profession. One of them who exhibited her handicrafts in the recently held exhibition, told media that this was to showcase the works of women who were less seen. Such exhibitions are expected to remain beneficial for the growth of the country’s business and encourage the work of women and make the society more dynamic and empower women further than ever. Women can now advance more than the past as their abilities are valued and respected and they, as part of the society, are encouraged to play their role in the country’s business development. On the other hand, the Islamic Emirate should support businesswomen in this field so that they can build a good economic future for the country. Also, women’s works and handicrafts should be provided with further opportunities to be showcased abroad and be popularized worldwide. The Ministry of Industry and Commerce should further encourage women businesses and distribute more work permits to them as more than one thousand of women have already been legally involved in business
