Afghanistan’s internal issues should be respected
The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has recently held a meeting discussing Afghanistan issues, particularly the recent ban on women work for the world body. Held on late last week (Thursday), the 15-member council adopted a resolution blaming the Islamic Emirate’s recent move to barry women from work for the UN. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) once again calls on the international community, particularly, the United Nations and all stakeholder countries in Afghanistan cases to respect its internal issue.
It has already said that it would never interfere in the internal affairs of other countries nor it allows others to interfere in its internal affairs. But, the 15-member meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) once again was held contrary to many of the bilateral commitments including respect to the internal affairs of the country. Ban on women’s work for the UN, as the UNSC meeting held on, recently is an internal matter of the country which does not impact activities of other countries. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) rejects the recent UN Security Council’s resolution on the women work for the UN that the Islamic system said the ban was a matter of internal issue. The UN member states should remain committed to respect the sovereign choices of Afghanistan under the Islamic system and based on the Islamic teachings and sharia-based laws that should be kept far from politicization. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) honors its commitments of not interfering in the internal affairs of other nations and hopes other countries not to interfere in its internal issues, and understand that any decision by the current government on human rights including the rights of women and girls’ work and education had been made in line with the Islamic sharia laws. The Islamic Emirate once again announces its vow for remaining committed to joint work with the international community and calls for unconditional removal of the UN multilateral and unilateral sanctions on the country. Also, the IEA welcomes the humanitarian aid supplied and being supplied by the world countries for Afghanistan and assures that the ongoing crisis would be resolved once the restrictions removed on the country. On the other side, there are other important issues such as fighting the impact of climate changes, economic, infrastructural and development needs of the Afghan people, requiring the world to give hands with Afghanistan to address them. Likewise, in order to cooperate with the poverty-stricken Afghans, to get rid of the ongoing economic crisis, the country’s central bank’s assets should be released and cooperation in the areas of development and fighting narcotics should be continued and strengthened through bilateral engagement and dialogue. Afghanistan is ready for an international engagement around common objectives for a durable way forward on the country and hopes the other sides to remain working together with the IEA to fight any obstacles facing its development.
